Need help building a system in my 67 Camaro...

I already have a HU and front comp set picked out, but need a little help designing the back end. I would rather not run rear fill and orginally planned to run a 12 inch sub that I have. However after looking that the trunk it is going to look like shit with a sub in the back so my only options are two 6x9s in the rear deck, maybe crossed low for midbass only, or run two 8" subs in the rear deck, both would be powered by an amp. Just having a really hard time deciding which would be best, or if both would sound like shit.

I wouldn't want to spend more than 300 for the rear stuff including the amp that would be needed.

Another reason why I want to just say screw it and throw a nice sub in the back is b/c I would have to run the 8" subs free air.

do yourself a favor....you have a badass car, don't cheap out on the sound system. You can buy good stuff online for much less than retail....complete the car, don't throw crap at it

Put a Real good set of 6X9's in, Add a 4 channel amp to the front and rears, Then do a Sigle 8 10 or 12.

A nice custom box with trim panels will set off the trunk nice.

cost will be more then 300 but why skimp on something like this.

Why waste money on 6x9's. Doing IB 8's in the rear deck is the best option.

Who said I was cheaping out? I have a nitrous bottle and battery in the back, I do have room for a sub in the upper part of the trunk but like I said it will look like shit unless I run closeout panels on the trunk, which I really don't want to do as those would interfere with the nitrous bottle and battery/battery box.

I also want to advoid full range 6x9s because I want to make a killer front stage. I'm about to order a set of pioneer TS-C720PRS comps running active off of a Clarion DXZ955MC Headunit through an amp. So the front stage will be set, just need to bring up the back end.

6x9 are of the devil in my opinion when your budget is only 300.

A pair of 8" IB on 2-600 watts is gonna be your best bet.

Search the 8" IB thread for hella comparisons.

Maybe you should do a search on the comps, they are a very nice set and have been getting great reviews. I am thinking about doing a 6 1/2 midbass set in the rear and then maybe a ten in a custom box in the trunk.
