Need Help, Blowing Fuses.

My buddy is blowing fuses like crazy in his car. He has my Phoenix Gold zx600Ti running four 12 inch JL w0's (single 8 ohm). He is running 2 gauge wire straight to the amp. He said that as soon as he puts the fuse in and flips his remote toggle switch that he can watch it melt. I told him to look at the ground first but other than that am i missing something? thanks fellas

I had an amp do this once, it was bad internally...

Double check that he's putting the ground wire in the ground terminal and the power wire in the power terminal

he has been bumping it for months. it just started this weekend with nothing being changed.

Mine was poppin fuses on contact as soon as it got power.

Either way you've got a dead short=somethings bad.

If it was installed and running before, i put money on internal amp short

If it was a new install, Id say his power wire is grounded somewhere

Open the amp and look for a burn spot on the board. If it smells bad/looks burnt, you know your problem.

he was blowing his inline fuse under the hood. Ill have him open the amp up, does dbr fix old school amps too?
