I just bought a crunch gp3k pro used last week. I was out of town and got back today. I hooked it up and it has very little output. So I checked all of my connections, adjusted gain, checked voltage. Same thing. I put one of the rca wires on the slave in jack and flipped the master/slave switch to slave and it plays but it sounds like crap bacause I cant adjust any of my settings. If the amp is defective whose fault is it and what can I do about it? The amp was packaged well and the boxes it was in weren't damaged at all. Seems like something is wrong with the rca jacks on the amp but im not sure. Does anyone know what could be wrong with this amp. Please help. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

If you can swap a similar amp in, and subs hit properly... then it's an amp issue.

If you set all the gains/boost/filters properly... then you've done all you can. I wouldn't open it up without consulting the seller first.

It's not DOA, but it just doesn't work as advertised. Whether it was intentional or not, the item doesn't perform as it was listed, unless labeled "As Is."

Talk with the seller and see if he'll work it out, or atleast troubleshoot it with you.

Your diagnosis seems good, though. A janky RCA connection can be bypassed by using Slave In, but you shouldn't have to live with that... If you do get stiffed by the seller, you might be able to run a line driver or pot for basic gain controls.

Ok thanks. I took my herc out and put this amp in. I didnt change anything at all. I already contacted the seller. Im waiting on a response. Does anyone have an idea how much it would cost to fix rca jacks on an amp, if thats the problem?

It's cheap if you are handy with a soldering iron. I haven't done this though, so take with a grain of salt.

I'm sure others can link you to better pcb rca's, though...
I don't really want to mess with the amp. I will probably mess it up more than it is already. Plus I don't know if this is exactly what the problem is. I appreciate your though man. I didnt think I would receive any help. I was hoping one of the guys that fixes amps on here would chime in but I didnt get lucky.

checked your crossovers and everythjing on the amp? maybe check amp one more time. maybe start all settings at " 0 " and set them one by one. G/L with your amp problem.

Thanks man. I will try this again but Im pretty sure the rca's are shot. I just hope nothing else is wrong with the amp.

Yeah everything is hooked up the same way my Herc was. Me and my brother-in-law got the amp to work, but it plays one minute and cuts off the next. The output sort of just fades out until it plays really low. It doesn't go into protect it just has really low output. Sometimes its louder than other times without me touching the amp and sometimes its lower.Something is really wrong with this amp. It wasn't damaged during shipping, the boxes it was shipped in were in perfect condition.

Good to hear, CrownVic. Hopefully it works out smoothly.

If everything goes well, post his name up (if you think it's proper). It's rare to find people who have quality customer service in the car audio world.
