Hey I need to know which tones to play for tomorrow (getting metered). Ive never metered my system before so I don't really have an idea which tone will work best for me. I have two 15" Kicker L7s in a CRX box ported @ 35hz. Car is an 05 expedition. I don't know which tone to play. I have 30secs when they are metering so I could play a few tones. I just tried a CD in my car with 40hz,42,44,46,48, and 50hz. 42 seemed to be the loudest one to me. 48 and 50 seem to be the "deepest" sounding. If I had to pick right now I would with 42 because its the only tone that caused some vibration.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I tested this by putting the subwoofer level all the way up on my HU and the volume only at 1, 42hz was the only one to cause a small amount of vibration. How would you guys determine which tones to play if you never been metered?

Get to a meter BEFORE going for a score. Test, test, and test some more. If that's not an option, play a fairly long sine sweep between 30 and 50 hz. I hope they will tell you what you peak at..

If you can, get a cheap Radio Shack SPL meter. They may be inaccurate, but they are consistant.
