Check out a DC LVL3, or possibly LVL4 from DCsoundlab.com Great woofers, and will blow anything you listed out of the water. The Sundown SA12s are pretty good woofer for the money as well. If you keep doing a little bit of research and reading on here, you will definitely be happier, and won't be kicking yourself in the *** later on down the road when you realized what you purchased (EX- Kenwood MTX Rockford, etc.). But if you are really set on brand names, like everyone else said, grab the Type R.

ok so is it that big of a difference. cuz if so, i wont go for the diamond speakers even though two if them in a box is less than 100 bucks. i just want like 500 watts rms and not to have to spend 500 for everything...

if you guys are interested in what ebay items im looking at, just let me know and i will give you the link and you experts can give me your opinion.

The 2 12" D3's in a sealed box will be about as loud as the Type-R and move more air (which is good), and if if the Diamonds come in a proper box, should sound better.

Though i'd take 1 type r over 1 D3.

The fact that there are 2 helps output. and the D3's do sound quite good for their price.

If you are looking to spend little for a good bit of bass, then here's a good setup:

Eclipse XA1200 - Mono Subwoofer Amps - Sonic Electronix

SSA Shop - Inciminator Audio 15" 187, 300watts rms sub woofer

All you'd need is wiring and an enclosure. Port it, 3.0 cubic feet net, tuned to 32hz.

That'd get stupid loud for a daily car and such little power. You'll just want to make sure you set your gains a little lower, as that amp would be able to kill it if you have the gain too high and playing too low material.

I'm only getting back into car audio after 10+ years off, so my experience is limited.......

But I've been doing a lot of research on some great bang for the buck deals, and just bought this amp

Audiopipe AP15001D 1500W Mono Class D Amp w/Remote Bass Control

And this sub (will run amp at 2 ohms, so 950 watts which this sub I've read will handle)

Audioque: Street Duty: SDC2.5

I got a 10, but you could get a 12 for 139 plus 25 shipping. So for $300 you'd have an amp capable of 1500 watts and a 12 you can run at 950.

Just a suggestion, and I'm no expert on this modern stuff, just pretty good at internet research.

I think the real key is to get a box suited to the sub you have and the goals you want.

No problem. You're doing it right by learning on here what to do and seeing what's good other than the big name brands. Nothing beats a knowledgeable forum and the search function.

Too bad I didn't have resources like this when I bought my first stuff in '96.
