dman what would you reccomend as far as what brand will last the longest? Ive had good luck with WD but you probably know more than i do.

And for trades i have a few car audio things like wire, distro blocks, amps, etc.

honestly it won't make much difference what brand....I have had a few different brands in my machine for 3 years now and they are all fine.

and from the sounds of it, you will be replacing this drive soon anyway. so just decide on a cheap one and go for it.

Why not go on newegg and buy a 120gb one for like 60 bucks. IDE HD's are rely cheap now a days.
