I always wondered about that.running a dual voice coil off just one of the coils

would it make the sub play diffrently?

for some reason I thought it would throw the balance of the sub off,

if you only hooked up one of the voice coils, - that and it would probly cut

the rms power it could take in half right?

I have ran my IDQ on 1 coil for i dont know how long. I wired it to 2 ohm but when i took it out to sell, i only had 1 working coil. Who knows how long i had it running on one coil? I now have it hooked up as a HT sub with only one coil. Still sounds amazing and has enough output for me.
