Subwoofers are not rated to be 'stable' at a certain impedence. Depending on the sub in question's voice coil configuration it can be wired to one impedence or another (a single voice coil 4 Ohm sub can be nothing other than 4 Ohms / a Dual 4 Ohmsub can be wired in parallel to 2 Ohms or wired in series to 8 Ohms / a Dual 2 Ohm sub can be wired in parallel to 1 Ohm or in series to 4 Ohms / etc etc etc)What amp wuld be best for an Alpine Type X 4 OHM subwoofer? Just 1 of them, and should I wire it down to 1 OHM as long as it's 1 OHM stable?
