Well first I need to know if my current amp is fixable. I have a Profile AP600 and I went to turn the gain control up a little and the control actually broke. It's a screw slightly recessed in the amp's casing. The screw is supposed to stop turning when it reaches max/min but when I turned it to max I felt it pop and now it turns freely in the casing.
I have no idea where the gain is actually set now so I disconnected the RCAs from the amp but guessing by what I think was a slight burning smell on the ride home (the amp still has power but no input signal) there's definitely something bad going on.
If this isn't reparable or not worth fixing due to other damage to the amp, I'll have to replace it so I need some suggestions on a good but inexpensive replacement.
The sub is 300W RMS, 1200W max so preferably I'd like a two channel amp I can bridge that puts out 300W @ 4ohms. Even just a brand to search for would be great.
