Any amp is gunna take power to make power. Doesn't matter what amp really it's going to take roughly 300a of current draw to get 3000watts of power(example). But I would say no this American bass is not power hungry... It runs cold,doesn't even get warm at 1ohm.

how much in 1 ohm at 12 volts just wondering ... doesnt wven get hot then at 1 ohm?
