Need Amp 1500+ watts

I'm not sure if this has already been posted but.. I have an Audiobahn AWT12x (2000wattsRMS). Any suggestions for a AMP? I don't want the amp to be too weak/too strong. If anyone is familiar with this i'd appreciate your input.

Audiobahn amps rock I would definately Get it. All joking aside, don't get and audiobahn amp unless you want to see your car in flames just like the chrome on the amp.

First of all, I have heard of these subs not handling their suggested RMS rating that Audiobahn has given them... I would do around 1500w RMS maximum for this woofer, it should be plenty power to get it moving. What is the voice coil configuration on the amp? DVC 2/4 ohm? I would suggest an Orion 1200D, there is a couple authorized sellers doing some dealing around here lately...

And as to the Audiobahn amplifier; I think you need to realize that Audiobahn is a low end company and makes products mainly that appeal to the eye, and not the ear.

Okay, DVC 2, and you wire the sub in parallel for a 1 ohm load, and hook that 1 ohm load into the terminals of an Orion 1200D

And HERE is where to buy one of those amplifiers from an AUTHORIZED dealer.

i looked up some specs on the Orion 1200D, says 1200 watts MAX power. and my sub specs are 2000watts RMS, 4000watt peak. why are you suggestion Orion, i'm not trying to be a smart guy, i'd just want an general overview of different amps, and one that would be great for my sub.

Well I explained that in a previous post, those subwoofers have been known to not handle what Audiobahn claims they can handle for RMS power. The Orion will do 1200w RMS @ 1 ohm, and a bit more at that. I do not feel that your sub will take 2000w RMS daily without having a problem.. If you disagree with me then go ahead and get a 2500D.

it depends really how hard you want it to pound i have 2 awc12t's 12's at 500 watts a piece audiobahn and powered by a soundstream 500x2 amp they pound pretty d!mn good but if you want something to just power em and only make em hit a lil bit get a directed there pretty good my friend has a directed amp to an audiobahn 12 at 1,000 watts bangs pretty hard
