I've got a 97"Dodge Neon Sedan & a 94"Ford Escort Hatchback LX(2dr.).But,everybody keeps telling me to get a S.U.V. to compete with!Well,I've kind of got a inside connect at the local auto-auction here in town. And I can get these for pretty-cheap.1.)Chevy S-10 Blazer(89-93) 2.)Ford Explorer XLT(92-94) 3.)Jeep Cherokee Laredo(88-93) 4.)GMC Jimmy(88-94) 5.)Ford Bronco 2(87-90).Which would be the better to do my comp system in?The Bronco's out already. It's too small.Which one has the better speaker locations? And which is the easiest to do a Alternator upgrade? And which is the easiest to sounddeaden?Which, one won't rattle alot period? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif Thanks in advance,Clint

I truly appreciate all and any help! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

My choice would probably be a hatchback ... like a CRX. I dont know how much room you have in the Escort.

I got my 91 S-10 Blazer pretty loud ... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sick.gif.b1847c8dabbfeeddbcf1a78052249e10.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Jimmy/Blazer are pretty much the same as far as speaker locations and whatnot.

They'll all rattle ... and they're all pretty easy to sound deaden.

What equipment do you plan on using anyways?

As you stated earlier, be sure to budget in electrical system upgrades (alt / batt).

- Head unit, fine choices.

- Component amp, fine again ... US Acoustics, Orion, etc might be a little cheaper. 2 channel is fine if you're only running one component set. Maybe save a little here and get the 9815, doesn't really matter though. Or save and upgrade subs, whatever.

- Hifonics or Cadence would probably be my choice ... 1500 @ 1ohm is a nice number. Always add another one later, and a $300 price tag is appealing to most.

- Subs ... Instead of SE's ... you could go with SEXXX's, a little louder for you. With the SEXXX's, the bigger the box the better, or at least thats what I've been told.

- Really only need one component set up front with an amp. Take the money from the rear speakers and get those nicer components and amp you have always wanted. If you're sold on rear fill, a simple two way is fine. If you have a chance to listen to the Perfects, do so. They fall into the 'love/hate' bin ... well most speakers do, but these drastically change the looks on certain people when they hear them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Back to the vehicle ... are you planning on using this for just comps? Or will it be a daily driver as well? Can you get ahold of a CRX or anything along those lines? Mazda 323, Chevy Sprint, etc? Still get a lot of airspace out of those. Your Escort might cut it, see how much room you have in there.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Go with the Cherokee, everything else just reeks of "soccer mom"

id get a CRX or any hatchback for the system. For competitions u definetly should go with the SExxx because they will get much louder than the regular SE's. They will still sound decent from what i hear for SPL subs. Everything else looks good and i second Steve on only getting one really nice component set up front. Get some Focals for the front..it will be awesome, u wont need rear fill.
