need advice on these units

I'm looking at these units to couple with Sirius:

Eclipse CD5425 $259

Pioneer 7700 $229

Alpine 9847 $169

The Alpine is almost $100 less then the Eclipse - is this the right model to compare?

Any reason to pick 1 over the other? Which specs are truly important to compare?

Is this enough of an upgrade or should I be aiming higher?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

as far as the alpine [wich i like better than recent offerings from pioneer and eclipse] i would go with this one for the front\rear\sub outputs and deadsexy looks.

Nothing wrong with that eclpise model. That pioneer 770 from what I have heard is a beauty! Lots of features.

Eclipse will school all of the models that you have listed. From the non clipping high voltage low impedence preouts to the superior warranty / theft deterrent coupled with ease of use, it is hands down a winner. Out of the box it will deliver superior tonal response without need for equalization. If you are a person who spends you money wisely, do it right the first time and buy the Eclipse.
