Need advice on 6.5" components and 6x9's

Hey all,

I am lloking to replace the components and 6x9's in my accord coupe. I will most likely be using a PG octane-R 8.0:4 (125x4 rms) to push them. I don't want to spend more than about $300 or so (ebay wise) on my speakers. I want excellent SQ out of the components, and bassy 6x9's since I will not have subs. I listen to hard rock, lots of electronic, and some rap. All advice is greatly appreciated.

I also have 2 JL 15w6's and a phoenix gold MS2125 for sale/trade if anyone is interested.

Thanks,

Clayton

No one has any advice for me? What about the Phoenix Gold X6.5 components? Or... Diamond s600s? Anyone want to put theose head to head. The x6.5's are like $150 right now on ebay.

Ok, you all are always wanting more details so here it goes. This system will be run from a stock HU in a 2005 accord coupe (or from an Ipod, depending). Then back to a phoenix gold MS2125, then straight to the front components. I will run both the fronts and rears off the 2 channel pg amp, probably with a 2 or 3 ohn resistor on the rears. So, the front components should be getting around 125-150 watts RMS. Hope that helps.

I have PG 6.5" zr componets and the 6x9 r series. I like how they sound. Definetly an upgrde from factory. I use to have the JL audio XR and they sound similar.

cknox2 that pg amp is rated by peak power listings on ebay. It really puts out 80*4 at 4 ohms, and like 160*4 at 2 ohms, which is still plenty enough. The octane zr components should do well with that amp, just as chistyle suggested. Good luck

Signal flow should be HU to DSP to amps. You would lose the ability to EQ and time align the sub with the DSP unit if you bypassed the DSP.
