never heard of that....just did the towel trick with no luck....it turned on and just froze...is that even the RROD?

I swear, just toss that thing in the freezer for say 20 minutes, and see if it powers up.

most of the time if you plug it right in and RROD instantly it's because of the plugs. try unplugging it, (power cable and video cable) then plug em back in. make sure they're firmly put in. i bought a new one, 1 time and it happened to me, i messed with the cables and never problem again. there's a difference between 3 quads lit and 4 quads lit. another thing i would try is get one of those RROD kits thru Divineo.com - Product Information

i put this on 5 boxes and it hasn't RROD'd yet. only thing is i mine didn't RROD before i did this but it's spose to work and it's pretty simple todo.

I use this method to fix them,there are others. My xbox worked for 2 years after i did it,before it finally shit the bed for good. It's a real cheap fix,you get all the parts from Home depot or Lowe's. You can also go on Xbox scene and there are people on there that can mod the fan so it stay's cool,thus having less chance of rrod.

I cant believe they would design such a crappy gaming system. The bottom line is that the Xbox is a piece of shit, we all know that. Ive fixed one 360 with the rrod, it worked and played til I turned it off then back on, and it through a totally different code. Went from 0020 to 0102.

PS3 is better than Xbox any day! Even with the rrod.

Exactly. But, none the less, it still sucks he got jewed. Maybe something will work out for him and he can get his cash back. But, I dont know what those chances are.

And its not jus the companys making money off them its people like the guy that sold him this Xbox, they lie about it and the jew people out of money. Like Microsoft made these cheap systems with crappy components, thus when they rrod when they out of warranty or whatever they either have to pay to get it fixed or buy a new one. And on top of that, things arent really made to last anymore.
