Need Advice(1 12" Solo X or 2 15" L7's)

ok im getting rid of my system now and starting over new...i want a 12" solo x vented on a kx2500.1 or 2 15" l7's vented on a kx2500.1...im trying to figure out what would be better to buy the one 12 or the 2 15's..i really want to stay in the one sub/1 amp class and try to hit a 150 with the solo x 12....which one of these setups will be louder...i dont care about sq...everyone sais kicker subs sound bad but my l7 sounds just fine...so im not worried about the sq at all...i just want to get as loud as i can with one of these setups...thanks for your opinions

The cone area on the 15s is just so much. I dont think one 12 could compare. If you power the l7s right they will wang very hard

Not so obviously to him... thats why he asked I'd have to agree with the 15 L7's, thats a lot of cone area. heh and a big difference in cone area is hard to overcome. If you're willing to give up the room for a big ported box for them, go for it. (about 7-9 cubes total, correct? anywhere from 3-5 cubes normally depending on the 15)

a 150 with one solo x 12" is do-able, do that if you prefer one woofer, but for sheer louder, two L7 15's, but will require more room, then a single X 12".

if space is at a premium, and you are looking to tune a little higher (~45hz) go with the 12" solo X. a higher tuning is really the only way the meter will like it.

id say go with the 2 15L7s and tune to 36-38hz if you got the room. give them lots of port, probably around 70-80 sq in each

As Polecat stated...150 CAN be done with a single 12" driver, you just have to have the power to back it up.

As far as what numbers you will hit...Anywhere in the audible range of sound. VERY install dependent.

I believe a 150 is VERY possible..Im pulling a 142.5 with just one off of 900 watts in a daily driving setup... You have almost triple the power and twice the cone area....Upper 140's should be no problem at all if you don't break a 150..

yep, even bass racing, Ben Gailey has done just over a 150 with one solo X 12" and 2500's. Now he stepped up to the X18.
