ned help with starter system

My brother just bought a 91 mercury cougar. He wants a decent system for like $1200. He wants more sq than spl but still wants to feel it. I gave him some sugestions but maybe I could get some help from some of you. He needs the works, subs, amp, hu, highs and mids. Thanks for any input.
