My XXX underpowered?wrong enclosure?

Well XXX has been doing good and i got my new h.O alt so my amp is deff getting enough power, but a) its not as loud as it should(i sat in a friends car with 2 sony p5s and it hit pretty much as hard off like a kenwwod small amp) i dont under stand how he bought everything for his and it hits close to mine,

b) the XXX dosent move good, on little jon BME click lets say on 21/40, my old SX off 1200 from a viper moved 3 times more than my XXX off 1800-2000 rms or so, i could get over an inch excursion from my SX on most good rap songs, i cant get hardly 1/4-1/2inch on tones and the same songs my SX could pretty much reach full excursion on, and at 23/40 playing a 30-50hz sweep, my SX would move some air and make everything vibrate a ton, but my XXX gets about as loud but you dont feel it as much because it dosent really move as much

ive had a couple of probs with this XXX and amp:crap: i just might sell it and get a new amp and a NEW XXX //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif or maybe 2 SXs which 1 really loud so 2 should be louder

what might cause this, my amp gains are matched im pretty sure, its deff not under where it should be, my sub out on my 860 is at +1, i dont see how people can listen to it at-10 because mine dosent really make any noise at all on -10, it goes to +6 and to -24, if i turn it in negatives like 10 and down i cant hear anything hardly, could it be my HU? or what other sources? when i had my viper hooked up to the XXX i dont think it moved anymore really than it does now so i really dont know, cant remember now though

Sounds like you could have a crossover or filter set wrong on your amp...that's caught me off guard before.

i dont see how it plays all the notes but it just dosent move as much i can watch those videos on ROE and i know mine dosent move anywhere near that

also my friend owes me 150$ but he dosent have it, i lent him some to buy a sub, because he had a check for 300$, but he spent it and im out, so he offered his 1 month old sub as trade it a kicker L5 in the kicker sealed box, he said he could blow it and get me a brand new one, they go for 300$ in CC where he bought it on sale, but he is using my old viper amp to power it @2ohms , it surprised me when i installed it, a 10 in a sealed box, of 400rms or so, it got pretty loud, not really low but sounded good, i know his sub shouldnt come near mine but it gets close

maybe i should just go to beast buy and get some type Rs in a ported box then i wouldnt care if i blew it, i dont want to turn up the amp on the XXX because if i blow it im out 110$

is the sub wired correctly? is it out of phase? get live a 9 volt battery and test the phase of them. also check your crossovers. on that pioneer you can turn it up to 30 on the volume and set sub output at 0 and set your gains with a dmm. make sure your subsonic filter isn't too high or your lpf is too low.

^ i agree see make sure its wired up correctly, check all the wires going from your box to amp. make sure they are snug in the amp i had the same problem becuase of that. But my wires were twisted like you wouldnt believe

definitly check the wireing of he sub, crossovers probly are the bg thign here...but also...before u set ur gains turnt he subout all the way up and ur bass EQ down low, perferably all the way down but it doesnt haver to be all the way..

well i think about it, i never really got any voltage drops before i got my high output alt, even though after i got it it was a little louder, but i never really got any drops, so i think its not pulling all the power it should or maybe the gain is messed up and i need to turn it to half way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif j/k

but i also have a 100a fuse in my distro running my pa a3000db and pa ov2 400, it hasnt ever blown and i figured my 2 amps on the 1, 1/0 gauge wire should at least pull more than 100a

its 1800-2000rms and 85x2 rms, 3000 pulls 160 and ov2 pulls 30-40 or so, shouldt it of blown ?

see if your friend will let you swap amps. try the viper out. maybe somethings wrong with the a3000db?

well i dont see how much can be wrong, its my viper, that i had on it before the 3000, although i did changes the power wire fuse block and fuse, added a distro block, another amp on the 1/0 wire, sharing remote wires to the ov2 400, do i need to add a relay, becuase the popping i believe is related to the remote wire, it didnt do it till i added the ov2 400

i also noticed on everbody's HU they had super bass eq on and loudness on and if sub out they had it all the way up, mine is all flat and sub to+1, loudness off,

do i need to be "cool" and turn it on/up?

i dont use loudness, daily i drive around with sub out on -10, if i wanna be loud i do +4, there is def something wrong

thats why i think something is wrong if you cant turn it to -10 and it still sound good, what is the amps lpf set to?
