My x-box just kicked the bucket

I woke up this morning and had an urge to play some COD 4, i wrap up my last game after about an hour of play and as i'm about to turn off my console it starts to make some weird noises, i stand there and listen to it for about 5 seconds before the disk stops spinning, so i press the eject button, disk looks fine. Put it back in, disk doesn't even spin, and it says "unreadable disk" where it normally has the name of the disk, i tried a few more disks, same thing. Probably an easy fix, but still sux, especially since its a 360 elite. This is no bueno

man that sucks. I had that happen on one, it was givin to me for 50 because of that reason. IIRC, I was able to tweak the POT and make it work again, but yours could be different. does it read DVDs?

Mine did the same **** thing... I bought it secondhand and now its up in my room dismantled, the disc drive is bad - not sure in what way however.

well i'm not afradi to take it apart, i just hope it doesnt burn a hole in my wallet to fix, i just dropped 60 on NCAA 09 and another 50 to renew my xbox live

unplayable disk, but i youtubed on how to fix it and all i need is super glue apparently lol

I thought that's what mine was when I took it apart too. No dice on mine... something else wrong with either the laser eye thingy... or worse. It acts like it just gives up on spinning the disc.

thats exactly what happened to mine a few days ago, its an elite as well. im just sending it in since the warranty has a few days left! the crappy thing is is that i sent it back a couple of months ago and they sent me back a new one. now this new one is crapping out... wtf. oh well, warranty ftw.
