My thoughts on the detriot big 3

Man chevy's really trying to push the volt. Too little, too late //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
and no one is going to buy that shit at 35k
Maybe if they actually care about the future, they'll sell it off to chrysler before they go under. There are alot of yuppies who will likely buy them. Just look at the smartcar.

Because they don't want believe the impact will be significant. The people represented are calling their representatives, telling them to quit bailing people out.
Its hard for the public to believe the bailout will make a difference when analysts say that even after 34 billion the big 3 are still likely to go into bankruptcy. Other analysts say it would require 75 to 125 billion to make it...and that assumes people can and will start buying cars again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

As mentioned below...its hard to want to invest tax dollars in a company when even their majority stake holder won't give them any funds to stay afloat.

Ford looks to be in the best position to survive.

Chrysler could survive, but Cerbrus isn't going to give them the money to survive.

True. I think many people are like F*ck it, I am already unemployed and barely making a living, what do I care if those folks up there lose their job or not. I hear that sentiment locally.

hell no Cerbrus isnt going to help them, thats the funny part //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif They've been trying to offload chrysler for a while now.

I knew it would go down like that when they where bought out. I am glad to see America is getting a taste of what it's like in the hedge fund world. Cerbrus wouldn't give two licks about the company or the jobs if it can make a nickel out of the deal. Nor should it, Cerbrus works to make money by purchasing distressed assets and selling them off later.

I am surprised they didn't say "Fvck a UAW, we are stripping this puppy down and selling off the pieces. We don't plan to build one car."
