My subs messed up I dont know y-i got pics of it

I do not know y this happened but my subs messed up. On one of them the wire from the terminal to the coil ripped off the terminal. The other sub does not work it moves a little but when u turn it up to a certain point it like turns off.

They 2 MTX 10" thunder 8000s hooked up to a mono channel alpine mrp-350. the subs are SVC and 400 watts rms a peice. the amp does 350 rms at 2 ohms. I had them hooked to eacher other for the past 4 months. they started messing up these past days that have been hot. someone please tell me what happened. the worst part is i was about to sell them n get the 07 CVRs

How did you set the gains on the amp?

Driving a pair of subwoofers with an amp that's not quite enough for only one of them...not getting the output he wanted/expected and had the gain cranked wide open trying to get more volume from it.

Clipped the crap out of the signal and what is the result?

pretty much all the way but i turned it back down a lil and the bass boost too because ya it is a small amp. it turned it all the way up then back down a little on both. but y doesnt the other work the tinsel leads r fine

Yea you defineatley sent a 100% clipped signal. Thats how you fried the subs. Are you sure that the only problem with those subs?

ya the one just like turns off and the other has a ripped tinsel lead. well **** that sux. but the amp still works good cuz i hooked it up to 2 different subs. **** man i wanna cry lol

Set your gains the right way next time.

same exact thing happened to my cousin's mtx sub... I just soldered it back on but..... what's up with that?

ya i just soldered it back on and now it works so i got one that works perfectly and one that dont work and im gonna get rid of it

you can buy my 06' CVR's 12"s, come with a pioneer GM-502t amp and a Boss BX-25 crossover for 200 bucks. thats sucks about your sub
