my spl score from today

well today i went to a local comp n did 139.7 db with one 12" and about 1100 watts going to it the equip. is in my sig. anway what do yall think?

but ~140 is a reputable single 12 SQ setup score. in the lanes, if you do a 140, you get the full 10 points for the "SPL portion" of the SQ competition if you hit 140. (iirc)

ohh okay yeah i was in the stock 601-1800 class and thats rated by the output of the amp at 4 ohm's and i have mine running at 4 ohms but anyways people in the class above me with 2 12's only doing 140-144 or so. it was my first time to compete and there were a lot of things i could have done to the car to get a better score but i wanted to see what i am hitting right now with nothing done to it. so how the hell did that 10 take 35kwatts??? and what kind of box?

Well a 4 db increase is a lot, especially as the SPL level gets higher and higher.

yeah that is true but they were running atleast twice the power and twice the cone area... one guy was running 4 12"s and was 1.5 db higher than me

hmm thats a decent score..i'm assuming that was burping...try doing that score over a 30sec averange on the tl mic....if u can do 139db still thats pretty damm good for 1 12

ye...i got my shit measured for tha first time...i was a lil dissappointed, but it was in a crappy box, so it was aight..

i hit a 137.9 with 1 12' mx....off a xx-zeus......but that was good compared to tha competition, people with 8 12's was only gettin roun 142, so i was like ****, i did pretty good for 1 speaker

yeah i could have done better one thing is i have my box firing forward and it takes up almost all the space going to the trunk but there is still a little bit of air getting to the trunk so its cancelling out a lil bit

yeah my box/ port set up (removable port) has a big spike in frequency so it pretty much falls off pretty quick before 40 hz and after 50 hz but i could build a box that could probly do it.
