My speakers are blown but why?

I got a set of coaxials the other day. Installed them and one was buzzing. Got worse by the minute. Finally took it out today. when I tap on the woofer it makes a high pitched noise. Much like the buzzing it did when it was playing. Just wondering why it was blown. Was it caused by installation? Is there a way to determain if it was blown or not by the install based on the way my speaker is blown? Do speakers blow for different reasons that you can pin point the reason?

deck power. I know it will make the same noise when I free air it because it makes that noise when I tap on it.

Im not to concerned about it cause I will be getting a new one I just want to know what to do or what not to do when I install it the second time.(if it was my fault)I didn't do anything wrong mind you when installing it.

Did you do anything wrong during the installation?

Please don't say "i don't know"

Just be sure that everything is right next time. BTW even if you are a complete tard(which i'm not saying you are) if all you are doing is connecting a speaker to a h/u, screwing it(electrically atleast) up would be tough.

no. the other speaker works just fine

push the cone in lighty and then take your hand off. if it feels like its rubbing then thas the problem. coil is rubbing or scratching

mtdewelf: I did nothing wrong. I was just wondering if based on what I wrote if you or anyone could tell if it was an install problem, a manufacture problem or a miss-use of the speaker problem. Or if there was no way of telling then I would love to know that too. I'm just wondering why it was/is doing that.

seems like its rubbing when I push on it. but its not whats making the high pitched noise
