i think the sound deadener is mainly for the accoustics of the car and to get better responses outta ur equipment. The ensolite foam from Raamaudio really makes a huge difference in road noise. Or I think most foams will do some good.

Edit: just noticed secondskin also had that overkill foam thing. Duno if u used it or not.

Dang man, im only taking about 2-3 hours to deaden my doors(nowhere near as good as yours) I bet yours will sound much better than mine, but I just dont have the patience for that.

Hope you like it in a week!

Keep in mind that a lot of (most?) road noise comes through the windows and at window-seals where fast moving air meets turbulent parts of the car. Not much you can do about that. Glass isn't the best insulator for that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I noticed a little quieter ride from doing the wheel wells, but really, that was about it. biggest difference was definitely in the sound from the front components as a result of heaving damping and ensolite in the front doors..

Nobody will ever tell you that deadener will completely eliminate road noise, if you were expecting that, it's your own fault for not researching. At most road noise will be reduced 40-50%

You said before you couldn't hear your stereo over road noise at 15, now it's 8. Guess what...that's over a 40% reduction, plus your stereo sounds a lot better you said.

i slaved over my shit for 10 hours. and i noticed a differance ftw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif it wasnt a HUGE differance...but a differance none the less......

Did you notice a big difference in the character and sources of the road noise, or does it sound just thesame only lower in volume. How old is the car? Worn out weather stripping will kill any effort.

Listen carefully, there may still be paths that you missed letting noise in. For example, unenclosed rear shock mounts can be murder. Same with the rear most part of the trunk. Did you do the roof?

Based on your HU settings, you did achieve a lot. You may have been expected complete silence, so any noise is pissing you off. Complete silence from a Camaro isn't realistic. You'd have to select an exhaust for noise, change engine mounts, all sorts of things that go against what the car was meant to do.

problem is you spent more on sound deadening then you did on the rest of your system, coulda probally got the same results with half the deadedning and spent the extra elsewhere.

Well i started a thread about my log and i will update it later with new pictures but in the simplest terms. . . I added about 1k in sound deadner (Second Skin) with around 250 if not more sq feet of deadner. It was a major pain in the *** and I worked very hard on it. Not one inch was left undeadend and especially the floor had Damp Pro/Sludge/Overkill/Heatwave. Well, i finished at about 11:30pm last night. .. took it out for a drive. . . .
I COULD NOT BE ANYMORE DISSAPOINTED!!! Maybe it was because I had worked myself up with high expectations or not but I hit the freeway and Roadnoise (stereo off) seemed at best just noticeably different. I could not believe it, all that f-en work for NOTHING!

On my way back home I turned on the radio and thats where the difference was noticed. Everything was much clearer from an acoustical standpoint. Before the minimum I listed to my CDA-9855 was 15 because anything below that was distorted with road noise. Now that 15 mark dropped down to 8-9 range. Before having it what most said to be LOUD was at 25 and now 18 is the now point of loudness within the vehicle, that and sounds better than before. When I am driving, having the stereo on a bit masks exterior noise way better than before.

I had worked myself up to thinking I would be able to drive without the stereo and the car would be silent. . . I guess that is my OWN mistake, however difference was apperant. . .

At this point, I am still unsure if those 50+ hours to fully deaden my car were worth it all since I am really tired and at work with little sleep. In a week I may change my mind but at this point. . . was it worth it all? That is questionable.
IT WILL DEFINATELY GROW ON YOU.

in time you will notice more detail in everything you play, more relaxed at the end of journeys, everything sounding better.

deadening is not obvious like a massive amp or bigger t.i.t.s. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif its subtle, like a well placed tounge behind the balls just before orgasm. or a whisper in your ear at the movies.

have no fear bro, your time was NOT WASTED. deadening is a great thing to do ALWAYS.

i just looked at your deadening install thread, you did a phuking great job, if you ever want to sell that car, gimme a halla.........
