No, Get a custom ported. Those JL boxes are crap for the money.
Do you understand the difference between a class a/b that does a 100x2 @ 4 ohms and a class d that does 400 watts @ 4 ohms. The A/b will do 400 @ 4 ohm bridged. The class D will do 400 watts @ 4 ohm. Lets not naive and assume you are giving even decent advice. 400 watts @ 4 ohm = 400 watts @ 4 ohms. They also make class d full range amps and class a/b subwoofer amps.
That doesn't make sense not only grammatically...that's beside the point now. I know what a class a/b sub amp is, owned one for years. It's expensive and inefficient. You get more power going with class D for the money and being more efficient at that. If the amp costs $80 and claims to do 400W into 4 ohms - I'll do you a favor, just send the money to me instead of throwing it away.
ID q1200.1 is a class a/b subwoofer amp that produces 400w at 4ohms. It costs $500. True 1200 watt amps produce 400w into 4 ohms. I really have no idea what you're arguing. Go ahead and have him buy what you want him to and when he's lacking power just the same, promise you'll refund his money.
Since I can't understand your logic, or follow your reason.... lets take your arc ks300.2 for this example. @ 4 ohms bridged that amp creates 700 watts into a 4 ohm load correct? So by your logic, what does the amp actually produce? I don't want him to buy anything, I just don't want someone finding this post and thinking they have to have a 1200 watt amp to power a 300 rms sub.
