my research paper: why marijuana should be legalized.

stereotyping stoners or people who smoke weed is very hard to do. I know of 50-60 year old business men who do it on a daily basis. Me being one, I garuntee no one on this forum would be able to pick me out of a crowd(i'm not a business man). But imo i think there is a difference between people who smoke dirt weed and those who only smoke the most expensive weed. I pay 20 a gram for Ft.Myers finest and i will probably continue to do so for years to come...
your dumb, theres no difference. you smoke weed and i smoke weed, doesnt matter how much you pay. is a crackhead less of a crackhead because he bought better stuff? no

I think the point he was trying to make was that people that get the really good stuff smoke it just because they like it & people that buy the dirt just want to get high just to get high... let me rephrase that in beer terms that might be a lot easier to understand.

Beer enthusiast LOVE beer & most cant/wont drink a beer sub par to what they are used to which is usually the higher ranked, really good beers out there. Its like drinking an Ayinger then trying to drink a corona, just not gonna happen.

Once again I can reword this in terms of car audio. Its like buying brands like pyramid, crunch, ect.. when you could buy much much better stuff. Ofcourse, to each his own, but im sure you understand what I mean.

well said.

ok this is what i want my counter-argument to be based on:

people that want marijuana to stay illegal might say something like "well marijuana is already legal for people that have medical conditions"

what would be my rebuttle toward that statement alone? im thinking about saying "well marijuana might be legal for patients but there are still peoplpe out there that are depressed and dont want to see a psych or even need a psych referral to know theyre depressed and just want some weed!" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif this is a valid logical argument dont u think?

I just think if Tobacco (which we all know is some horrible sh!t) & alcohol (once again same issue as with tobacco) is legal, there is abosolutly NO reason that marijuana shouldnt legal. Another site you could get a lot of info from is http://www.420times.com/forum

Not from the actual forum posts, I mean if you look through you'll find Myths/Facts sections, ect... that im sure will help fill up your project a bit more. Im sure I could dig up a few links later on.

You can't compare other countries that have it legalized to the US...
Also, what happens if we legalize it...then we start to see weed laced with all sorts of different drugs...should that be legal as well?

Why can't we compare the legalization of weed in America with that of other countries? Even if we can't, there are still obvious benefits for Americans that have already been listed in this thread

and as far as your second comment goes, that actually makes no sense. If anything, people would be able to buy from government dispensaries just like I do (medical marijuana FTW!!), which (trust me) is a much more legitimate process. There's no way they would sell anything laced, they love pot wayyyyyy too much lol. And no, any sort of marijuana laced with a different drug should still be illegal because that other drug is still present during ingestion, that's what makes it illegal, the fact that the weed is there has nothing to do with it.

Time to go medicate!!!

We can't compare them because they are entirely different cultures.

7 year olds drink liquor in Italy, yet their drunk-driving incident rates are minute compared to that of ours.

Different culture

Even if the government regulates it, that doesn't mean that they will have sole control of the product coming in...and I would imagine that if it was a government-controlled product that you'd see a large increase in alternate drugs, or, like I mentioned, laced weed. Why pay heavy taxes on it when you can get it for 1/2 the price from the guy around the corner?

I'll admit I don't know much about the drug or what kind of plan the government would implement if they ever toyed with the idea of legalizing weed....

Sell stamps. No stamp = long prison sentence. Have different stamps for different amounts. sell a certain stamp that allows like up to .5 gram for one price, and 1 gram a higher price. Have the stamps only valid for a certain period of time, like a month, so people would have to keep buying them over and over. They could even have a stamp for cultivation.

that way the government can profit, but not have to deal with the distribution.
