If money and time aint enough to punish my audio quest, I've been trying for 6 months now with no
success trying to contact someone at *that* pro audio company to get an order placed for more tweeters.
* The USA distributor never calls me.
* Website *click here to email us* didn't work.
* I contact the secretary under the VP of worldwide sales and had limited
success;
1. She would forward my drama email to the VP and he'd contact me,
he never did.
2. She would create an invoice for my order {13 drivers, about $8k} and
I'd write a check to the USA office, therein lies the problem -> Nobody is there
for order confirmation. // duh //
3. I never got an invoice or email back from her in spite of a second email
sent again for an update.
4. I sent an email to the VP himself stating my drama to get some parts ordered, help me obiwan kenobi..
So far no reply.
WTF ? This is a long established pro audio company in Europe, their website says 'we are growing and expanding
worldwide' and their news section is very active with positive news.
I did some homework that I find funnay.
1. After my email to the secretary in May, shortly on their website in the
news section appeared two items..
A. "We are hiring a USA sales rep for sales and installation". /// ROFL ///
B. "We had problems with our email server". /// ROFL ///
WTF ? /// confused //
re: USA sales rep
1. Did the guy working there lag ? Did he quit? Did the company not know
there is a vacancy there?
2. They didn't know their info email didn't work until I mentioned something ?
Mystery Partially Solved
I did more homework and found the root cause of these issues.
About 2 years ago, the entire R&D department, critical production people,
and marketing team left that company to form a new pro audio company.
This explains alot. That company was nuked by this major event and it's
taken them at least 2 years to recover and they still haven't fully recovered.
Someone on the pro forum told me they thought the company died as
there is no advertisements in pro mags, but recently he started seeing
ads again, a small sign of life from this place.
Bad news
The new company formed by ex-employees, they have a killer tweeter
but will not sell it OEM for DIY'ers. ARG............ It's a killer tweeter.
One way to get this tweeter is to buy the system and remove the tweeter
and discard the rest, but you are talking $7500 MSRP for this box with
two tweeters and four mids. I'd need four of these boxes to get
eight uber tweeters to make the uber line array. // not going to happen //
The alternative is to wait for the resurrection of that company as I already
have their tweeters, I just need more of them to finish my collection.
It's been 4+ years from the first day I bought my first tweeter from them
and slowly accumulated more. I guess I have to wait to get the rest,
maybe until that USA sales rep job gets filled and then maybe I have a contact,
unsure.
/// crazy ///
I guess at year end, I'll work on the electrical and amp portion of the system.
2006 is a bad DIY year as I have non-hobby homestead drama to put to rest.
