well gas enters from the heads, and oil is below lubing the crank and shit.....so if the rings are leaking, your either A) get oil in the combustion chamber, or B) get gas in the oil. or maybe a little of both if your really lucky lol. either way, its not good. happened to my truck.

well the shop says the grinding noise was the AC compressor. $650 to fix. No word yet on why the oil has that smell. I'm moving it to synthetic next change though.

holy fock AC is expensive to fix. only reason its that much is cuz they are in an awkward spot.

perfectly normal for there to be a faint gasoline smell in the oil, your rings are loose when you 1st start the car anyways, they're designed to be able to expand when they get hot, so it's perfectly normal to have some blowby when you first start the car, which is why you're NEVER supposed to really get on the throttle until the car's up to NOT, or you risk low oil pressure conditions, as well as scratching the sidewalls, and creating piston slap

and i've scored a/c compressors for under $50 from junkyards

a/c's for *******, anyways, just rerout your belts

That isnt a bad price actually.

The compressors new arent cheap and you will also have to get a dryer + and fluids and hoses that might need to be replaced.
