Im AWARE of that. And my commentary wasn't about the camera he was using, but the time he took. Obviously the camera can take focused pictures, as it clearly does in the first shot. I was commenting on the irony of buying a 1000 dollar camera and not caring enough to take decent pictures.

The 18-55mm kit lens. The zoom lens I want is about $600.

How are you supposed to stick that in your pocket and take pictures of drunk girls at parties?

I just ordered mine...I got it without the lens cause the kit lens is crap.

Under 700....

Even with it...not over 800

The camera itself was right over 7 with the kits lens, but I also ordered an 8g CF card, a bag and a warranty. But I know this lens sucks, but I wanna use this to the most so that I can appreciate a better lens.

Nothings funnier than the guy that just spent a grand on a camera only to post blurry pictures.
In all seriousness, i envy you. Always wanted one, but when i could afford one i wanted something that i could fit in my pocket, and when i really wanted one, i couldn't afford it. I guess thats kind of how life works though.

Thanks, so far this camera takes awesome pics even with the cheap lens. I had to sacrifice some things for this, and there's more to come.

But sorry guys about not answering, I lost my power most of yesterday and last night in Chicago's terrible storm. Just came on at about 4:30 this morning.

It isn't by any means the best lense, but the 18-55 kit lense actually isn't bad for what it is. Good all around lense actually. I got a FANTASTIC deal on an Canon ultrasonic 70-200mm, which I obviously like much better, but I still think that kit lense does ok. If you can get ahold of an ultrasonic (always taupe lense with black adjustments) get it. Best lense I have ever used.

Only lense I haven't had luck with yet is Sigma.

very cool. i shoot a 1D MARK II. I go to photography school. If you ever have any questions about anything let me know, I love talking photography. If your really serious out photography then try and stick to the Canon "L" series lens. I have 3 L series lens and a 4th shall be one its way soon...

That is currently what i'm trying to learn. I've taken some niiiice pics with the kit lens, and i will post them after I get outta work.

Yeah, no real luck with sigma. Although the guy who is doing my photos for my wedding on Sunday (long time friend) has a 30D and a few sigma, still mostly uses the ultrasonic, but he has no issues.

He is about 50X the photographer I am though, so its not just all equipment

Very nice camera. I just bought my girlfriend a D200 about a month ago. She was using a rebel and loved. she didnt want to sell her rebel because she liked it so much. But she absolutely loves the new Nikon. She was using the Quantary 70-300 with the rebel but it didnt seem to be as nice as the actual canon brand one that another friend was using on his.
