My new 8 thread, need help deciding on what to get.

So my old kicker comp 8 isnt cutting it anymore, so its time for an upgrade.

Im looking for an 8 (has to be an 8) that sounds good and gets low, loudness isnt really an issue, but i want some spl as well. This is for HT.

My enclosure is .8 cubes@28 htz ported, this is the one i will be using as i dont want to build another and there is nothing wrong with it.

So far ive looked at the DD1508/1008, Tc 1k 8, SS Rli-8, and the new AA assasin 8.

I dont really like the 1508s basket and the SS is alot more than i want to spend.

For power ive got 100wx2@4ohms. Im looking to spend around 130 shipped.

Any other 8s worth looking at? What sub is best suited for my needs in the list?

See thats a lot more that i want to spend, and more power than i have availible.

I like the DDs cone but the basket IMO is ugly, and i think it only comes in SVC and if i want to give it any kind of power it has to be 4 ohm DVC. And does anyone know how much a 1508 runs?

Depending if you have a DD dealer around you, the 1508 should be around 130-150. I have 2 DD 1008a's for sale. one is brand new. let me know.

I know i dont have a DD dealer near me, so that options probably canceled. I just looked at the AQ SD 8 and im considering it a definete possibility now. Im pretty sure its going to be between that and the AA Assasin if scott ever gets pricing and orders up. Thats pretty much all im waiting for now.

And for the price i really cant beat it, how do you think this would sound compared to the Comp, i know cone area would be sacrificed some but it looks like it has considerably more Xmax, would be louder? Would it sound better?

How much of an upgrade would it be to go to the 7kv2? Is it worth the extra money?

you do know that's a 6.5" driver?? the 9kv2 is the 8" driver.
