My kill switch stop working correctly?

I bought a switch to turn my amp on and off, and I swear on my life it was working a day ago. Now, when I have my car off, my amp stays on but the switch turns my radio on and off. Here's the wiring diagram for the switch (http://your4x4store.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/CH4x4-Toyota-Small-Push-Switch-Wiring-Connector1.jpg), I put the green one into my 12V accessory wire behind my radio, and RED 1 into my amp. I disregarded the other two because I don't want the light to illuminate and figured the ground was to complete a circuit so the light would turn on. Did I wire it backwards, or.. what is going on here? Unless I'm going crazy I was able to turn my amp off and on while I was driving a day ago and it worked fine.

I was also thinking maybe since I'm running the remote wire next to my power wire that it is keeping the amp on, but why would the switch turn my radio on and off when my car is running?

So the switch relies on your interior lights to be turned on?

What in the hell did you buy?

Why do you need to turn your amp on and off while driving?

What is wrong with your headunit remote output?

What is wrong with a normal switch?

It takes power from when my radio turns on in order to turn my amp on, well that is the theory here. It is just a push-toggle switch that lights up. I bought that one because it fits in a little empty hole I have on my panels. I want to be able to turn on and off because I don't always like to listen to the sub, it's nice to have an option to turn it on and off. I had a normal switch but like I said, this one fits in an unused pop-out hole in my car.

This is the exact one I bought: http://www.amazon.com/CH4x4-Toyota-Small-Switch-Symbol/dp/B017C316X2/ref=sr_1_1?srs=8287475011&ie=UTF8&qid=1462075202&sr=8-1&keywords=ch4x4+power

I have a BIG idea.. take a deep breath here..

There is a device called the PAC LC-1

PAC is brand, LC-1 is model number.

It runs inline with the RCA cables that run into your amplifier.

Most bassheads use a device like this to alter the signal input going into their bass amplifiers so it fits with what they are listening to.

I know the PAC LC-1, if turned down all the way, can defeat the bass amplifier output completely (shutting off it's audio output)

Does this sound better for you?

You must have missed the part where I said my amp stays on when my car is off and only read the part about me wanting to turn it off and on when I'm driving...two problems here. Both can be solved with a working switch that I'm trying to get help with.

I'm going to assume that issue has to do with a miswire in that switch you are using.

All you have to do to use that LC-1 i'm talking about is run your remote wire from the amplifier to a 12v relay.

Your headunit, if aftermarket, has remote output. Run it to relay, output relay to amplifier.

If you are using stock headunit, then splice your remote wire from amplifier into Ignition wire to stock headunit.

That's fix your amp issue and only turn amp on and off with car.

If your amp stays on when the car is off, you didn't wire the system correctly, it's that simple.

I would check the wiring and ensure the system is wired correctly before looking into a bass remote control. Sounds to me like the remote wire was not wired correctly.
