i have ran 13w7's. I liked them, but then again i got them for less than 500 each.....with about 5 hours or so on them when i bought them. I would not pay the price they want for retail. FYI, i had two eclipse(tc sounds) twelves in my truck that got just as loud and sounded just as good as my JL setup. I say sound quality was around the same, but others say it was better withe twelves.
I have heard some of the refrence series mb quarts twelves and they sound awesome and are relatively cheap, and get LOUD. They are the ones with the inverted surround, next time i am at my buddies house i need to remember the vids.

Other brands that i have heard with great SQ are SI MAG, and some type x's, but there are many videos and tests on the web that test and compare all kinds of woofers.....I have been dying to try one of the Crystal Comps in the wifes car...

the fact is, RE audio is great for you fools with lightning audio amps and hyundai accents, but the true player in the game is JL Audio.... and the reason is not that "people kiss their ***"... it because their stuff is high quality....

and yes. JL is "overpriced" (compared to anything else).... remember, you get what you pay for. Don't hate on it just because you can't afford it.

As a JL owner (Previous W7) , and someone who has had a sub like the FI Q, I can't really tell the difference between the two. I ran the W7 in a sealed enclosure at first, and then I moved to a ported box. It really slammed hard off of my Orion 1200D. I then sold my W7 on EGAY and bought a FI Q and FI BTL. I never had a chance to put my Q in a sealed enclosure, but from the Ported box, I can't tell if their is an audible difference between the two subs. Both get stupid loud IMO. My Q seems to show a lil bit more xcursion, and my W7 seemed to hit tighter. I love my Q, and @ $260 brand new, it's even better. My W7 cost $650 brand new. You do the math.
