You probably need to set you crossover to HP (~80hz). You're maybe sending low frequencies to the set.

lol....that was an old thread... and yeah bad luck I guess. I got the ctx65 and the tweet was smashed too, and was bnib....been in ca for 3 years tho, and im addicted, can't get out now

What genre of music you listening to?

Reset your HU, so that everything is flat. If it still distorts, you got issues at the amp. Like someone above said; post a pic of the amps crossovers.
