My ghetto *** setup

Ive ran a whole bunch of power through 8ga power and ground wire back in the day. It was odd for a car to have 4ga let alone todays "normal" 1/0 setups. So many cars running around that are over wired now.
I could not agree with you more man. I think 4 gauge is plenty big enough. As for your different sub thing you have going on. Stick with one I would recommend staying with kicker much more solid and can handle more.

Yes, alot of cars have bigger wire than is neccessary, but You can not really "overwire" a car with 1/0. It definately won't hurt anything, & sometimes helps swith small elec prob, like lights dimming. First of all, I have a Question..... Have you even checked to see how many Ohms those three different subs are? what are they wired to?

That wire looks like walmart 8awg wire. Have you ever taken the wire sold in walmart's "8 awg" kits And held it next to true 8awg ? How the hell do they figure this?

yall think this guy's stuff is ghetto ? there is a guy at my work that has a punch 12 in a bandpass box with a kenwood 75w or 150w,dont remember which, but his rca's are spliced into his rear speakers lol running small power wire.the remote wire is plugged into his fuse box lol lol.and he wonders y he has this humming sound from the sub with his car running and the factory radio off.now thats guetto lol. and im not joking.i know this cause one day he asked me y his amp kept getting hot and going into protect.i kinda felt sorry for him.but i had to tell anyways.sorry for the thread jack.

lmao.... I kinda had a setup like that when I started so I can't really talk. But yeah I had no idea how crappy it really was sheesh.

But yeah dude just build a ported a box that is to manufacturer specs and ditch the visoniks. Run a decent amp and you will have a okay setup.

Ok, first thing is first.........stop listening to your friends, lol!

Stay on here, and be open to suggestions.

Ditch on or the other brands. I would keep the solo and run some clean power to it and get rid of the visonik crap. You pay for what you get most cases, but almost always comes down to install.

I would build a different ported box for that sub, give it 400rms from a better amp and let it sing.

If you don't have money right now, don't worry it will come and just read on here about certain brands, wiring and what not and you will have a very nice setup next time. Till then, rock on with your bad self!
