My ghetto *** setup

Ive ran a whole bunch of power through 8ga power and ground wire back in the day. It was odd for a car to have 4ga let alone todays "normal" 1/0 setups. So many cars running around that are over wired now.

none is great at all. but on an extreme budget or just getting started with no help or advice from anyone it could have been worse

just buy your equipment one at a time. And don't waste money on MTX, it is not very good. Get $100 and buy an alpine type r or RE audio SE from ikesound. And you gotta get a better amp before that thing explodes. Upgrade your amp first man.

I agree with endofdays get a nice alpine head unit they also make nice subs as well.

btw, you can but a whole 5awg amp power kit from WallyWorld for about $30 made by Scoche if you are that concerned.

How long do you think my amplifier will survive? I can't get a new one until around Christmas time, do you think it will last that long? Should I just take the Visoniks out?

man, your amp will last a while if you don't push it past it's limits. Don't use bass boost and set your gains right and yes, it will last you til christmas. Use all of your christmas money on car audio upgrades Thats what i'm doing, can't wait.

start by getting you a new amp for the kicker. build a ported box for it. save the visonik amp to run some decent speakers up front. try to sell the visonik subs for like 50 bux or whatever some poor soul will give you for them
