My fund raiser for.....

being in the thunderdome I thought it was a troll thread and I was on it... I mean if I had a few bucks I'd toss it to the dude, even if he didn't use it for his purpose, its still helping somebody out.....
Same, I went through my entire street and shoveled 12 driveways last night just because I was being a good neighbor, last house was an old couple and saw what I was doing and tipped me a $100. Kindness pays, and comes full circle.

get a lot of snow down their did ya?

As stated OP, trying to get donations from these people on this forum is near impossible. I have a charity and got Jacob from sundown to donate some subs. Tickets were $10

For them to be raffled and I didn't get any donations for the raffle from anyone on here even though I told them they had a 100% chance of winning them. I ended up extending the charity and raised a lot more but you get idea.

I respect though that you provide for your boy and just looking to do something together. My son is my life. I try to spend every minute I can with him. Hard to find stuff to do with no money

I can respect someone wanting to do something with their kid. It shows good parenting. My issue with this is, asking people for money on something that is a hobby and something the boy may not even enjoy. Not everyone enjoys shooting and this is for a safety class. Those classes are typically boring, although useful, so I don't see how that will be bonding time. The guy never mentioned what gun he was looking for either.

Your last sentence really got me thinking. Having no money makes hobbies difficult, I can agree to that. There are other activities that are free or cost significantly less than shooting. Necessity breeds creativity in this situation. You don't have enough money, get another job or have the kid get a job. Being a parent doesn't mean that you pay for everything. If the kid isn't old enough to work and/or appreciate what he's got already imo, he doesn't need a gun.

Never clicked the link cause I thought it was an asinine thing to ask for anyways. Since i've clicked on the link, who the **** needs $1,500 for a .22? They are easily attainable through craigslist and pawn shops for maybe $300. Safety courses shouldn't be anymore than $150 a person. That puts the total at roughly $600. What's the extra $900 for?

yea, i loled a bit when a saw a goal of 1.5k, got my Ruger 10 .22 for about 250 if that a few years ago when i was younger.

Did some looking since I was curious. This took less than 10 mins to google.

According to this site (for MN gun safety) the course is $7.50 per person. $15

Firearms safety certification for youth: Minnesota DNR

Here are some .22lr suggestions that are

Discount Guns for Sale - Buds Gun Shop

There is no reason this "help fund a new hobby for me and my kid" should be $1,500. $250 at best, is what this guy needs to complete what he's asking for.Trying to get 6x as much money as is needed is just ridiculous and frankly, it's scamming people that see somebody in need and just want to help. This is a good reason I never give money to people.

**If I can't post links to these sites, let me know and i'll take them down**
