My FIRST TL score

I would try moving the box back away from the rear seat opening to let more sound/air into the cabin...
X2 on this, also it looks cool and all but your fur will also hinder spl a little.and your subs are not out of phase or you wouldnt be getting as much as you are.buy a test cd and find your peaks then start from there

It's a sport, Like any sport you don't go out and set the world on fire with your first try.

With my first system I gained 15 db's from the first time I metered to the last time. Same equipment just learning things like amp adjustment and h/u settings. box placement, Grounds etc.

The fun comes from doing better each time. if you go out and hit 194 you only have fun once //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i think the headrest counts more than the dash. do u listen to the music at the dash? yea didnt think so.... lol
also OP u need more port and to do a sweep and find ur peak frequency.
I play music just fine thanks!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

My first score was a 137.8. By the end of the day the fellas were able to squeeze a 140.1 out of it. 2 12's and 1200watts.

Same box better subs and double the power always 141. Added 5k same 141.

Changed box and the world changed dramatically.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Dig the fur but it def. takes away from free moving air.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Maybe it is the box? Could be leaky? Because you have some nice equipment mang. Should be in the 140's at least.
Or it could be the tunning.
box was done by mlstrass. im assuming the box is tight seal, no leakes or anything because he's a good guy. lots of great boxes come from his garage, so i dont know about that. you would have to ask him, but i doubt it.

I have a 98 Altima with 2 12" Mmats Pro Audio P3.0 subs, US Amps MD-2D, Kinetic HC 600, and my box is 4cu. ft tuned at 35hz. My trunk is not sealed yet. And my score was 136.2 on a song. In your opinion did i do good or bad?
That is terrible.

This is a fine example of "its all in the box"

And this new box is louder then the one we slapped together?

I read that you wanna seal off your trunk etc. I would advise against that. I would buy some aero ports and build a loud box.

90% install

10% equipment.

how come you would advise against sealing off my trunk?

He's got a solid box for daily with the tuning/port area, but it's not an SPL box as that's not what he wanted. I know another box could make him louder on the TL...

He's also playing off a factory HU if I remember correctly...

Because it isn't necessary. A loud box will really make the difference.

A fine example would be that i was over 8 db louder then your current set up, with less cone area on music with a type R.

The equipment is not the problem.

Just because you tune low, doesn't dictate if its going to meter well. For his given equipment that TL score leaves lots, lots, lots to be desired.

I told him for the beginning that a single 15 and an aero port box would be optimal for his trunk or 2x 10's. He doesn't listen to well.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

i moved the box back like mlstrass said to do, and i can hear a big difference in how my system sounds. the box is good, and is tuned just right for me to hit both high and lows. now as far as 15nissen said about the type r, if i remember correctly, i allready had my subs and my amp when you told me to get the type r, so i wasent going to go through all the trouble to get everything changed.
