Breaking away from noob status(atleast I hope). Finally figure the box out and got everything cut tonight. Hope to start assembling it tomorrow night or tuesday.

What do you guys recommend for an cheap amp. Looking for a good 600-900rms at 2 ohms. Got a Swiss Audio mono amp(piece of shit) that I am going to start it out on. I am thinking Hifonics because of the price point but let me know what you guys think.

yeah hifonics is good. they are made by maxxonics who also makes crunch, which is what i am currently running. cheaper than hifonics but same brand. like its little brother.

I just mocked it up to see if I need to cut down any of the pieces. I am going to cut the hole tomorrow.

I am thinking the Hifonic Bxi 1208D? Anyone running one?

I got the sub new off ebay for $100 shipped. Really happy I found it for that price.

The SEs really good? Never heard them in person. Pretty much bought it cause it was a 12'' that looked pretty legit. I heard they have a good mix of SPL and SQ and thats what I was hoping for.

Past setups have been a sealed 12'' FUBAR(power acoustik) that sucked balls and a ported 8'' sony home sub the was awesome but quiet.

well ihope you got more luck then i do...finished my box tonight 4 cu ft. 33hz...and i had to cut the metal that the trunk seal goes on just so the box would fit in my trunk :S....oh well its in now im happy tho

Really? That means a new ground system and batt for me. I will play around with the 600 I got for awhile then upgrade.

Make sure when you give it 900 that it's a clean signal...

I know they will take 750w rms daily, but haven't ever tried giving it more than that. I'd be careful with that, tho. Depending on the enclosure size, it might get a bit smelly!

I will only give as many watts as it needs to get loud, so my preferences probably wont ever take it over 700 watts.
