****UPDATE on page 2****

*******************************

Today i started the construction of my sub box. It is going to house my 15" Fi Q when it arrives (ups says the 13th). My experience with woodworking has been limited to helping my dad with various household improvements, but i've never done anything solo. Since he's out of town and i wanted to get started i figured what the hell. He has a pretty good variety of tools at my disposal so that definately made things easier. Here are some pics:

first off, the box is going to fit right here:

here is the base of the box. it fits in nicely just below the seat. It is only 15" wide, however that was party by design. due to size constraints mostly.

here is an artists rendition in mspaint of how it will look when completed (note: things are not in proper proportion)

and here is my workspace featuring my dads very sexy mercedez CLS55 AMG in the background. he won't let me drive it (for good reason)

i'm actually fairly happy with the way things are turning out with it so far. I'm shooting for around 2.6cuft. What do you guys think?

Poor AMG...getting saw dust on it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif
i moved it outside while i was working...and took it for a little spin...shhh

Looks good how are you going to attach the top?
I have the entire top of it notched so that *hopefully* i should be able to just set the top piece on and glue it to high heaven.

Looks extremely complicated for a first project - good job! What are you using in the corners to seal it with?
I'm sealing it with silicone. I don't know how well that is going to work out. If that doesn't work i'll go out and buy some liquid nail

SOunds good prolly would have been easier to just make one piece though.

god, i went ahead and put a bunch of pictures to edit my post. then it rejected it and i lost all my work...

here is day 2

I'm happy with how it is turning out. it is a little taller than i expected but it is going to be around 2.1 cubes sealed after installation.
