My first competition!!!

So... My car lit on fire today... Not sure exactly what happened, we re-installed everything and got everything looking nice and made some new stuff etc... Played some music and it sounded awesome! turned everythign off, walked away and about a minute later i here FIRE!! YOUR CAR IS ON FIRE!! Ended up being one of my SoundStream Crossovers, not sure why but it melted and lit my rear deck on fire. So i ditched the rear crossovers/tweeters and just connected my mids directly to the amp and they sound good and so far are working fine.

Tomorow is the last day to get ready for the comp. and i plan to pretty much re-do EVERYTHING just to make sure nothing crazy happens at the show. OH YEAH, also found out what was smoking the other day, two wires COMPLELTELY melted, don't have a clue what they where for yet... I would say my power windows but they still worked after i disconnected them... I'll deal with that tomorow too I guess

Wasn't too horrible. To be 100% honest though, i was disapointed as for as the fallowing rules thing went. I sen quite a few obvious violations but they never checked any of teh vehicles. for one of the classes I ran you where suppose to have EVERY factory piece in the trunk, carpet etc... so we actualy took the time yesterday to put every factory piece back in my car to make sure it was 100% legal and in doing so lost 1.82dB from doing so. Not a huge deal as i would only have gotten 2nd place rather than 3rd in that class becuase the winner was like 146.XX and I was just into 140 but...

got 2nd in extreme 1 which was HORRIBLE because of the 30 second average. It has to be music of course, I found out i peak around 54hz, closest thing i had was 50hz via Eminem- Go To Sleep but it has a lot of drops, my high was like 126.XX but my average was only 110.XX due to the pauses in that song.... ANYWAYS, all in all i had a LOT of fun and will probably be doing it again very shortly. I might snag up a Civic hatchback that my sister offered me because pretty much every vehicle that beat me was either a hatch or mini van... I might just try taking the back of the rear seat out too... depends on what classes I run next time. Extreme classes are not for me... IDK

Forgot to mention... i dropped almost 6dB between the Audio control meter and the Termlab... well, EVERYONE did actualy... the local shop owner I was up against did my metering and his own of course and I was at 145.8 and he was at 145.6 at his shop. I did a 140.1 at the comp and he did a 140.3 so...

thanks... The rule enforcement thing still bothers me though... I want ot set it up like I had it but i cannot KNWINGLY break the rules, even if almost everyone else there was...

This may be a dumb question, but why not just write your own song and tune the bass notes for your specific vehicle?

I could put one together for you with 54hz or so peaks no problem.

Let me know PM me.

to be "legal" it has to be a commercialy available music cd. But I guess if they are always that lose with the rules it won't really matter...
