My first competition!!!

AND I AM NOWHERE NEAR READY!!

Midwest SPL is doign a competition at a local shop this saturday and I am HOPING to run in these three classes:

Local 2

Extreme 1

Basic Trunk

My setup: TeamPSI recone on a Mach5 SPL-15, 3" 8-layer flatwound copper coils, dual sewn leads, extra stiff spiders etc... Memphis 2000D, pair of BatCap 2000's. Sadly my 300A alt just crapped out so i am back to the stock one for the competition but I should be OK... wire is 4/0, with 2/0 for the trunk batteries, Big3 in 2/0 as well...

SO, I figure I should probably build a new SPL specific box for this. However i have questions. How high should i tune the box? I was thinking like 50hz or so? For the Xtreme 1 class I have to play music... I need some killer song suggestions... Lastly for the Local 2 and Basic Trunk class, I can either burp or do the 30 seconds, since I haven't tested anythign out and won't have time to do much testing should i play a sweep or what?

SORRY i have so many questions, as stated, this is my first comp and i want to do good! The local shop owner (where it is being held) told me a little while back with ym 143.6 that I would easily smoke anythign around here that he knows of and I am sure I have went up since then, I am going ot guess 145 MINIMUM but who knows... I am going to try and get my recone all broken in and everythig and get up to the shop and do a little testing such as which way to face teh box, removing the back of the rear seat, try to do some tones to see where i peak etc...

i think most people tune in the mid 40'z for spl boxes?

try some 36 mafia; there are bunch of songs that have misc. tones in it; i know for a fact that throw it up remix gets low... atleast in my car

it is vehicle dependent i would say. Kind of need some base numbers to go off of, kinda loike shootin in the dark for now.

for midwestspl they will only allow you to run either local or basic not both... i wouldn't worry about it too much...just go there with what you have and have fun

Ultimate Mobile Concepts told me that... based on the class i was in (single 15" 1K watts) on music (Young Joc...its goin down)

one shitty thing i JUST realized... I got a D2 recone becaue i was going to run my 4Kw @ 1ohm but now i have a Memphis 2000D that is apparently only stable at 2ohm... so i have to run 4ohm now i guess which will put me in different classes....
