My first competition!!!

I have a 4.5ft^3 net @ 40hz with 90in^2 port area... would that be OK?

I am not really planning on winning but i woudl like to not embarrass myslef with a super low score or anything...

if you go through the rear deck make sure not to cut anything...

dont worry so much on your score. i dont think anyone will go over 46... highest this year is a 49...

Well, so far the amp is running just fine @ 1ohm. I am going to have a new back plate made to hold a fan on one side and then just vents on the other side, doesn't feel hot after an hour but I would like to make sure it stays plenty cool.

as for setting the gains... (at 1ohm)

First, I did everything exactly like I was suppose to! I had it set and everythign was great, sitting at 45v (around 2000~ watts) then I decided to mess around with the subwoofer level on my deck and the bass knob as well. I figured sooner or later i would max both out showing off like a dumbass so lets see what happens. both of them turned all the way up it was at about 100v~, OBVIOUSLY a bad thing... So i decided to turn both all the way up and set the gains that way so i don't have to worry about it. So with the bass knob and the subwoofer lever cranked I am at 50v~ so I should be safe...

so tomorow I am going to build my battery box, redo all of my speaker wiring (they cut out sometimes, you have to hit the door panel and they come back on so I hope thats what it is) then I am going to build a new box (5ft^3 gross) and mess around with aeros most likely.

rules I am going to take advantage of:

4-6 Rear seat backs in trunk vehicles may be folded or removed from the vehicle. Bottom part of the seat must remain.

if you go through the rear deck make sure not to cut anything...
Trunk vehicles may cut & port through the rear deck as long as part of the original deck remains in place. In other words, a competitor may not remove the rear deck making it a ‘hatchback’. Exception: Basic Trunk Division is not allowed to cut anything. The only modification is the removal of the back of the rear seat. See Instructions Per Division 8-13.

So... I could simply remove my rear speakers and bring the aeros up throught that right? but then the ports would be hitting the rear deck cover (cardboard/carpet) can THAT be cut? If not I am going to just try to remove the rear seat and flip my box so sub/port is forward and see if that does anything. Also going to build the bigger, higher tuned aero box and offset the sub and bring the aero through the rear armrest and after that leave the box the same and just remove the back of the rear seat...

Good luck with the comp. Let us know ur scores and be sure to post pics and vids //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
