How does this work? :

I have a family member thats a mech. I don't know if he's seen one of these regs before though. I want to do the big 3 also with this but I'm not sure how yet. I want to give him written instructions on how to do the big 3 and how to wire the alternator and the 16v regulator.

What's this wire for?

What is the little Blue wire for? The wire harness is the one that is on my current alternator I guess. Do I need bigger wire now for this one or do I just use what I have? Will I need to update my normal car fuses so that this doesn't blow anything? Please advise me so I am not misinformed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

It looks very well made and I can't wait to get it installed!

07 Hyundai Accent. How do I run 16v then if I cant use a 12V battery? I'm really tired so maybe I have a 16v battery. STINGER SPV44 DEEP CYCLE CAR STEREO BATTERY DRY CELL

Looks like I need another battery //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

An external regulator is traditionally reserved for 16 volt batteries. Usually a person will have a 2nd alt with the external regulator for a 16v battery bank while keeping the stock alt for the cars 12v electrical.

Well I don't have room for a 2nd alternator. So Can I still run this? Otherwise I payed for it for no reason.

i say dont run 16v. but use the regulator to dial in the voltage right where you want it. a reg 12v battery wont like anything over 14.6-14.7 volts. and no that stinger isnt a 16v battery //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif just 12

but the alty you have gives you the option down the rd to do 16v. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

question....if you have a dual post battery 12/16 and you hook the alty up to just the 16v side will it still charge the battery to run 12v as well?

had a thought that you could run the car off the dual post battery like a kinetik 16v...run the car off the 12v post and the sytem off the 16v side. but not sure if that would work
