My dual sundown sa-10 ported box build.

Boomin_tahoe, btw how hard do those x 15's hit?
Since I'm underpowering mine, they can take a lot more power than I'm giving them. I've seen some high numbers tho....I wouldn't doubt if I can't hit 145 right now. But...they can get pretty loud.

Next time make the baffle go over the top bottom and sides, I can see the cutout takes the entire baffle making it very weak.

Also some rounded over window bracing would have been much better than a sheet of wood with holes inside. Just because you made some holes doesnt mean you aren't losing a lot of output from impeding a FK ton of airflow along with creating standing waves. Whatever OP thinks is banging now, he has at least 1 more db out of it if he does it proper with more efficient bracing that doesnt impact performance.

That's why most prefer slot ports, they act like bracing and perform just as good if not better than round ports.

Not in his case, he was tight on airspace, a slot port would not have enough port area and take up too much airspace while still run into high air velocity. Aeroport + bracing would still net you a lot more overall airspace and have an overall much more efficient port. Not to mention its easily modifiable by just taking it out and cutting it shorter.

The only thing slot ports have over aero is you can get precise amounts of port area because you arent restricted to circular cross sectional areas.

There was the issue of cab at 1/2 ohm power... yes... it was tricky to correctly port it for a 1300 watt plus signal... 2 4" ports were necessary... or a 6"... but the flare was an issue as well... bracing was the best I could explain on my phone from +1000 miles away... turned out better than expected tho... I'm still waiting on a video OP....

He doesn't have the room for 2 4" aeroports in that box, beside he doesn't even need bracing on it, I don't think any of the panels are more than 12" wide, once everything is glued and screwed there is no way 3/4 mdf it's gonna flex, people tend to exaggerate allot when it comes to that, I just built a 3.9cf slot ported for a 15 nvx and I didn't put any bracing on it

Nor will he have the room for a slot port, it'll be way worse airspace wise. To get the same amount of air velocity as an aeroport, the slot port has to be much bigger due to the amount of air friction through larger amounts of surface area a slot port has.

Just finished installing a 2" seat lift I made at work earlier, looks much better and fell out just as planned. All that I have left to do is cover the outside with something and install a couple grills.

And make a vid... lol... I wanna see and HEAR the installed enclosure.

A CAB @ 1/2 ohm on a pair of Sa-10s... should do ok

I cant believe lmi is actually selling those seat lift kits for that much, 7 pieces of 2x2 square tubing with 1 side cut out and a hole in it, 2 brackets to lower seat latch...i should start making a set for half that price. I understand making mooney but wow lol
I am assuming you didn't get the kit? I personally was going to make the kit myself as I love fabricating but it made no sense considering the amount of time to get it right. Sure the back mounts are U channel which is cake but the front mounts are completely custom welded brackets. The time to get the seat sitting correctly and then fab those front brackets up into place made no sense to me. But to each their own if you want to save 120 and you have plenty of time go for it.

Those brackets arent hard to make even the outside, but ive been a pipefitter for 17 years so offsets and angles are easy to me. I might sell a set of those brackets for fraction of that price.

Agreed not hard just time consuming. Not worth it to me but to each their own. Id use u channel not square tubing with a side hacked out will save you a bunch of time. Good luck.
