Oh really. You own a Lexicon RV-8, Denon AVR-5805, Integra DTR-10.5 or the sort? Anything else is mid-fi.
Sure, I'll agree the 880 is a good car receiver, but comparing it to a home theater/audio AVR is inane. Unless you brought the 880 into your home, powered it up, then output to your home speakers, then that's be used for comparison purposes. Alternatively, if you brought one of those AVR powerhouses and played it through your car's speakers, then there's a comparison. Don't forget that those AVRs uses world class DACs, digital transmission, and most have complex and sophisticated Room EQ software. Give me a resonablly controlled test comparison --so that the variables are not all over the place-- otherwise, it's just hearsay and moot.
