My DEH-P880PRS/CDIB100II review

It displays the whole title. The one other thing I didn't like which I forgot to post is that, like the alpine, for some reason you can't display ARTIST and SONG TITLE at the same time. I don't understand it . . .

Ihave this unit and I agree its amazing paired with the ipod adapter.

but I have one question hopefully someone else with this unit can answer

When listening to the ipod or whatever with no backround display animation or the ent off, does the display reverse colors from white text on black backround to black text on white backround for you? Sort of like a screen saver? It goes back to normal (white on black backround) when any button is hit or after a couple seconds but I find it a lil annoying.

Is there a way to end this maddness?

Its not in the manuel

are you being serious ? I have only ever heard great things about the clarion and to say a 300 dollar deck trounces it in sq is a very bold statement and makes me wonder....if this is true more power to ya but for some reason im having a hard time buying it...ps this isnt meant to be offensive...just curious:)
pss i have never heard either so i am talking outa my *** and just going by what i have heard:)

I never said it trounces it in sound quality. I did say that I "Liked" this one better.

I like it better for a few reasons...

*Ergonomics, it's easier to use and tune than the DRZ.

*Media, I kind of like having access to all my music really quickly, doesn't mean I don't use CD's, but having it all there is nice. Also having control of your Ipod from the remote is nice.

*Crossover Slopes....This may lead to better sound quality if your install requires -24db crossovers...which the DRZ is lacking. There's also more bass control and sub tuning options compared to the DRZ, another attribute that may lead to better overall quality of the sound in your vehicle.

*Detacheable Face...Thieves are assholes.

*Price....More features that I benefit from for a lower price compared to the DRZ.

Sure the DRZ is one of the best sq decks on the market and great if you want an all in one headunit that has 4 way crossovers, but I am fine with my 2 way set of Lotus Ref's active so the DEH-P880PRS does more for me in my install, which is why my truck has never sounded this good.

Turn the deck off. After it's off, push and hold the multicontrol knob, and it should come back on in a setup type menu. Turn the reverse option to off. This menu also gives you the option of changing the backlight color.

I had asked this in another thread, but didn't receive an answer. Anybody know if the crossovers in Network mode effect the the amplified channels , or only the pre-outs? - Thanks

Nice to hear someone finally came up with good ipod integration...

Any Ideas if you can scroll through as fast on something like the DEH-P780MP ??

Or is it just this deck specifically?

According to the review linked by the other user, you can.

Maybe its something in the setup? I dont know personally, I dont own the adapter, but am considering getting it.

Yowza.....but how about vs the 8053 Cam??? In terms of raw sound quality, that is.

As far as I've heard all of the 06 units are pretty much identical in relation to the ipod interface. Not entirely sure how the multicontrol works on the 780 as it only has one knob, but it should be similar.

Yeah Im more concerned about the speed of scrolling through everything. I had the AVH-p5700dvd (I think thats the right model #) touch screen and loved having the integration but was severly disappointed at the slow scroll speed through the ipod menu's...

Not being able to back out really sucked too but not as much as the slow speed
