My custom 10" Is yours beefier?

To dcole:

Most subs I have seen have a small line of glue around the dust cap, so it isn't just an AQ/DD thing. But I agree, it would look better without it. And AQ does not assemble the HDC3s, they are built and assembled in China.

To bose301s:

any sub with a dustcap is prolly gonna have a few visible glue lines, thats a given

but more so on AQ/DD subs, its part of their design philosophy (just like the super stiff suspension)

unless your saying all subs (this is a brand new sdc2.5 btw) with dustcaps have glue joints like this?

Ok, that is quite excessive. I have never seen a picture of the DC that close, and that is pretty bad. I wasn't trying to call you out really, just saying what I have seen.

i know your not man... dunno how much experience youve had with AQ/DD subs but every one ive ever seen has had glue around the dustcap like that

except the DD 9100 series which souldnt really count

go look at the IA's website... looks like 1" of glue all around the dust cap... I've told them they should get some cleaner pics to represent their products... kinda looks like crap if you're in-experienced and don't know that it doesnt matter...just looks sloppy

if you would be so kind as to read my reply on poast #141 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
I see what your saying.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif It does look a bit cleaner but its definately stronger which is probably why I like the look.

I've seen these on way more power than I'm giving them and without that heavy bead you had no dust cap:crazy: lol

Is it just me, or are the 'cooling spacers' just simple nuts?
Unless you are competing where cone area dictates classes, why would anyone want such a massive 10" sub? Just wondering not flaming, Im not really understanding the motivation to own this thing.
My car is small. And I travel alot. I need some trunk space. So I am going from a 12 to a 10. It is also more of a wow factor hopefully. And it will be run in local comps.
exactly..........its fun having a single 10 that puts up numbers beating out any average setup with multiple bigger coned subs......

i'd get a 2nd 1500d for that thing IMO //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
