Too bad your cousin reacted that way... really screwed himself in more than one way.

See, if he had just gone up to the guy and told him that was very uncool and asked to immediately speak to his supervisor and filed a SECOND complaint against him, and with witnesses to back this one up, they might have had a nice slam-dunk ******-harassment lawsuit along with ******-assault criminal charges on the guy.

Those things get settled for 6-figures-plus pretty often. Companies can't whip out their checkbooks FAST enough trying to make something like that go away.

well we'll see...there are i guess 2 lawsuits against the company for failing to follow proper procedures for ****** harassment claims...i guess the guy has been warned about it behind closed doors but in a buddy buddy way...there are 3 lawsuits against the guy...i don't know, big ole mess...i don't know every detail so i cant speak too much on it...im just pulling for my fam...

As you should! However, these lawsuits could have been brought on without the violence. I still wouldn't call what your cousin did "right", but he is fam and you have to back him to some degree. Thats understood.

the judge has dismissed the charges against my cousin...he felt that my cousin was acting in defense of his family and that the guy was preying on his wife and posed a threat...based on documentation alone the guy should have had charges filed against him for hostile environment in November of 2006 or something like that...

my cousin has been ordered to take several classes and has been assigned to 6 months of community assistance...

apparently the judge and the lawyers watched a video from the security footage behind closed doors and the video kind of showed the initial incident and they labeled it provoking and the act of a predator...

all of the witnesses told the same story and justified my cousins actions...

wheww...

now my cousins wife and 2 others will file a suit tomorrow...

so there you go...

If my brother pulled this shit, I'd vote for him to rot in jail for a while. It might teach him a lesson. Family members are not always right, nor should they always be supported in their actions, especially when they are dangerous, illegal, and put other people in danger.

Your cousin got off... I'm really surprised in this day and age. If it were me as the judge I wouldn't have let him off so easily. I probably wouldn't have thrown the book at him, but certainly not let him off scott free.
