my cars dimming problem

I have a 95 maxima im running 0gauge power and ground. I have a optima red top and i have done the big 3 and my lights dimm like i have never seen before. I have had systems in every car i have owned and this is by far the worst dimming i have ever had to deal with. I had an alphasonik pma 4150 4 ch running my 2 10" type r's with a jl 300/4 and it was really bad. The alpha is rated at 150x4 at 4 ohms and 240x4 at 2. So not a lot of power there. Last night i put in a jl 1000 and put in my 2 101w7s and it is just ridiculous. Any thoughts on what i can do to help this besides an alt upgrade?

Well like I said Id get a bigger amp or another 1000 to make those W7 run at their full potential... You will need a second batt however now and if you get another amp maybe another as well as an alt...
What horrible advice! He doesn't need a bigger amp at all. He can't even run this one without severe dimming.

As to the OP, I would look under the vehicle for the thickest piece of metal you can find that runs from front to back with no welds. All unibody cars have one. It gives them good structure. It's a unibody car's frame basically. Make sure you're grounded to that in the back, and make your big 3's "chassis" ground connect directly to that up front as well, making sure to gring off all paint there so you get good contact. Make sure your ground wire from your amp to this new ground location is less than 2ft long if at all possible. Then check to make sure there is no corrosion on your battery terminals. Then set your gain using the dmm method.

Your right running a 1000 RMS amp to 2 1000 RMS subs is the perfect install... Why would anyone ever want more power lol... Did I not say if he got a second he would need to correct his electrical first and if he did get a bigger amp he would have to step it up even more?

Why would someone need to give a sub it's full rms rating to have a good install? The guy is having electrical problems. He can't properly power the amp he's got. He asked how to fix it. You suggested he get a second amp. How is that relevant to the topic? Why would a second amp be necessary at all? He didn't mention going for numbers. He asked for help powering the amp he has. So how was your advice any good at all?

For fvck sakes I just made a statement... They would perform better with more power then half of what they are rated for in most installs... That's it, now read the rest of my post regarding his question and stop making it seem like that's all I have told him...

That IS all you told him. Also, it wouldn't necessarily make them perform better. It's faulty advice all the way around. Doubling his power might give him +3db in a perfect world. If he's not going for numbers why would this make a lick of difference? It wouldn't. Stop getting mad at me for this. I'm trying to help the OP and if you'll listen maybe you as well.

Really???? Your right.....

For one you need way more power for those W7's... What did you wire them to and what kind of car? You will need to add second batt for sure...

The OP asked what he could do BESIDES an alt upgrade. You suggested an alt. A battery cannot stop dimming. So your only relevant suggestion was a battery which can help but cannot solve. You should give this charade up.
Well what magical device do you know off that will help dimming, if not solve it, besides a batt or an alt since according to you in the above statement a battery will not and since the OP doesnt want an Alt... Enlighten me......
