my box-not dial up friendly

I found out the kicker 1200.1 was too small for both subs. Here is a link to the new amp details ($625-sweet deal) . Got the sub in yesterday and the amp earlier this week. If it doesn't rain tomorrow, Ill be stuffing and tuning by noon

Cant wait to see it all done.

Well, I got the box and the amp rack carpeted. It turned out much better than I had hoped.

While I had the box apart, I measure the volume. The local shipping store sold me some packing peanuts and a 12"x12"x12" box for $5 . It took 3 full boxes of peanuts to partially fill the volume. On the 4th box I only had 2"-3" of peanuts. (someone do the math). I am guess it is close enough to the recommended enclosure size for a sealed box. I believe the sub displacement is .17^3. Also the capasitor storage is 325"^3

I also pulled off all my seat brackets and welded the bolts from the bottom upwards. After I weld the bolts I painted them black. They'll be covered with a wooden cover (I haven't made yet). The bracket for the center seatbelt is the last bracket I have to make, before any thing goes back into the truck. But it has to be done before I can install any thing cause it goes behind every thing. Yeah, bass ackwards, oh well.

Ill try and post some pics later tonight. I need to get this crap done. My next lil project is a BBQ pit (8') on a trailer. I have almost every thing I need for that already

You have about 2.7 cubes net, if you didnt do the math //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Looks AWSOME! You obviously know what youre doing, and take your time on it. Nice work man, A+ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Actually, I did the math on the box portion and guessed on the fiberglass "bowls". That was back when I started the project. But then I added, or subtracted, the area where the capacitors go (the blue mirror area).

I installed everything about 2 weeks ago. Just to listen to it. It sounded really nice, but I hadn't yet sealed the top of the box. So it should be even better now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I had the amp wired down to .5 ohms. The set up was really more than I wanted. But I can crank it to the max and Pink Floyd sounds crystal clear with some hard bass.

wrong. hes got 3.75 before any of his displacement.

3 "cubic foot" boxes, and all but 3 inches of one.
